It's not just about vocal technique...
As a young singer, I was trying to figure out how I could at all sing under pressure, when it counts. I was on my way back from an audition which I bombed -- I had a completely sleepless night the night before because my mind was racing, I was practicing in my head over and over! I couldn't shut my mind off and I couldn't sleep. Exhausted, I don't even know how I made it through the audition the next day. On the drive home, in tears and in desperation, I cried out, "God, if you want me to be a singer, I need to know how to do it without stress!!!" Shortly thereafter, I found Dr. Alex Loyd and the Healing Codes. This was the beginning of a journey which would lead me eventually to develop the program I now call Soulatis®. This program taught me how to center myself and how to stay centered under stress. I don't mean to say that I was never stressed as a performer -- it is a very stressful job! But I can say that I was able to stay more focused and more calm leading up to and during performances. Also, I was learning how to have a life, not just a career!
The techniques of Soulatis® in its general form are amazing for creating power and relieving stress, not to mention building strength (both physically and vocally) and forming your instrument! But there are additional techniques which I can show you through some of the principles of Soulatis® which can put a piece in your your voice quickly! You can use the knowledge of the Soulatis® Vowels and their related Chakras to create a seamless legato --- helping you to find the right resonance on each vowel for each pitch, so that your vowels are on the breath without "positioning the voice." This creates a "String of Pearls" which is one precisely resonant vowel after another. I also help to train in your consonants so that they do not interfere with the legato of your beautiful vowels, in fact the consonants become a support for the voice! With the vowels and the consonants working in harmony, you learn to use your whole body as an instrument -- in the flow and without force -- so your voice can do what it is meant to do -- swing freely! Once you get the hang of it, you can use these principles to train any piece in by yourself!
